Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Citegrade Technologies Inc. (“Citegrade,” “we,” “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store credit card numbers directly.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use Citegrade, including pages scanned, audit reports generated, features used, and timestamps. This data helps us improve the product and provide you with workspace analytics.
Content Data
When you submit a URL for analysis, we fetch and process the publicly available content of that page. We store the analysis results (scores, issues, rewrites) but do not permanently store the raw HTML content of third-party pages beyond what is necessary to generate your report.

We automatically collect IP addresses, browser type, device information, and referring URLs. We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and analyze site traffic.

- Process your audit requests and generate citation readiness reports
- Send transactional emails (audit complete notifications, billing receipts)
- Send product updates and marketing communications (with opt-out)
- Detect, prevent, and address security issues and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers — Infrastructure (hosting, databases), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and analytics providers who process data on our behalf under strict contractual protections.
- Legal compliance — When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Citegrade and its users.
- Business transfers — In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Audit reports are retained for the duration of your subscription. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable precautions to protect your data. We will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Restrict or object to certain data processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@citegrade.com.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Citegrade after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
